Description

Newsquest Media Group is seeking a part‑time Print Audience & Content Editor to play a key role within our newspaper print production team. In this role, you’ll work across a range of our daily and weekly titles, ensuring pages are edited, polished and ready for print.

You’ll contribute to the production of several flagship regional titles, including the Worcester News, South Wales Argus, Swindon Advertiser and Oxford Mail as well as a wide portfolio of weekly publications across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, London and Wales.

This is a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment where quality, accuracy and efficiency matter. You’ll need strong editorial judgement, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively to deliver high‑quality print editions.

This role is home‑based, offering flexibility while still being part of a supportive and experienced production team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit, proof and prepare newspaper pages for publication across daily and weekly titles.
  • Ensure all content meets house style, is accurate and adheres to legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with production colleagues and editorial teams to maintain consistency and quality across all print outputs.
  • Check copy for grammar, clarity, accuracy and readability.
  • Assist with page layout and design where required.
  • Work efficiently to tight deadlines in a busy production environment.
  • Support the wider print team in delivering multiple editions each week.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Strong journalistic background with proven experience editing and improving copy.
  • Excellent command of English, grammar and style.
  • Experience as a sub‑editor or page designer within a newspaper environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Solid understanding of print production processes.
  • Confident using editorial and production systems (training provided if needed).
  • A flexible, positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a remote team.
