Opportunity

We are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer (ideally chartered MISTRUCTE or MICE) to lead and deliver structural design solutions across water sector projects, specifically for water treatment plants for utility companies.

Responsibilities

• You will ensure design deliverables meet safety, quality, and industry standards, provide technical guidance, and mentor a team of engineers, CAD technicians, and graduates.
• You will work on projects under AMP8, including;
• Design of water retaining structures
• Foundations and structural works for water treatment equipment
• Retaining wall designs for sewage treatment works upgrades

Qualifications and experience

• Significant structural design experience in water sector projects, including water treatment plants and related utility structures
• Chartered engineer preferred
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in structural design
• Ability to carry out reinforced concrete and steelwork calculations
• Leadership and mentoring skills for engineers, CAD technicians, and graduates

Desirable

• Familiarity with construction methods and materials used in water utility projects
• Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices
