Qualifications

  • A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or a similar discipline.
  • Chartered status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., CIWEM).
  • Extensive experience in a Flood Risk role within a UK-based design consultancy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical tender submissions, including Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
  • Prepare and submit reports, calculations, models, and other technical documents.
  • Take ownership of projects, managing resourcing and budgets.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a trusted, innovative multidisciplinary consultancy renowned for delivering expertise across civil, structural, and hydrological projects. The successful candidate will work with an established team of designers and hydrologists at the Wigan office.

Responsibilities
  • Manage technical tender submissions, including Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), and drainage assessment reports
  • Prepare, check, and submit reports, calculations, models, and other technical documents
  • Take ownership of projects, managing resourcing, budgets, timeframes, and delivery/implementation
  • Manage client and stakeholder relations across public and private sectors
  • Oversee the CPD of colleagues within the team
  • Identify Business Development (BD) opportunities and work to develop them
  • Enforce and uphold relevant industry standards, processes, procedures, and legislation at all times
Required Skills and Experience
  • A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or a similar discipline
  • Chartered status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., CIWEM)
  • Extensive experience in a Flood Risk role within a UK-based design consultancy
  • High proficiency with FEH, WINFAP FEH, Flood Modeller, HEC‑RAS, AutoCAD, and WinDES
  • Experience leading projects and people at all stages of the process
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • High competency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
