Job summary

A leading consultancy in sustainability is seeking a Principal Energy & Thermal Modelling Consultant based in Hertfordshire. You will lead projects on energy strategy and thermal comfort while mentoring junior colleagues. The ideal candidate has chartered status or is working on it, along with proven experience in Life Cycle Assessment. This hybrid opportunity offers a salary up to £70,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Chartered status (or working towards it) in a relevant professional body.
  • Proven Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) experience.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead teams.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of sustainability standards.
  • Outstanding communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on energy strategy and thermal comfort projects.
  • Conduct residential overheating studies.
  • Perform Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for sustainable decisions.

Salary : Up to £70,000 depending on experience

Are you passionate about shaping a more sustainable built environment? We are seeking an experienced Principal Energy & Thermal Modelling Consultant to lead on energy strategy, overheating analysis, thermal comfort projects, and sustainability-driven design across a range of sectors.

🔎 About the Role

You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact consultancy services including :

  • Part L compliance, energy strategies, and passive design analysis.
  • Residential overheating and non-domestic thermal comfort studies.
  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to support sustainable decision-making.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Developing innovative approaches to sustainability challenges.

This is a senior opportunity to demonstrate expertise, mentor junior colleagues, and influence both clients and industry best practice.
