Job description
Overview

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for operational risk management and data protection? We're looking for an Operational Risk and Data manager to join our team at AXA Health and oversee the strategic management of operational risks, controls and incidents. If you're able to cut through complex processes, manage a broad range of stakeholders and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you! You'll play a key role in ensuring we have effective risk management within the COO function, making sure all operational risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated across a broad range of teams – this will include keeping action plans on track, supporting our Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) and ensuring compliance with key risk frameworks. You'll need to get to the root cause of any challenges we have and work cross‑functionally to fix issues or, even more importantly, prevent problems ahead of time. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of risk mitigation plans within Membership.
  • Ensure timely completion of audit actions and support owners to meet their commitments.
  • Support the development of risk culture and maturity through effective reporting and communication.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of risk frameworks within COO.
  • Manage day‑to‑ team activities and provide leadership to Risk and Data Protection Specialists.
  • Oversee COO attestation and governance procedures to ensure alignment with AXA's broader frameworks.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and data teams to manage data risks and privacy requirements.
  • Track and manage risk‑related milestones and governance activities to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications
  • Operational management experience essential, risk management preferred.
  • Good understanding of risk and regulatory frameworks within an operational environment.
  • Previous experience working in health advantageous.
  • Highly organised and methodical, with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking with proven experience in driving and implementing change through influence and effective stakeholder management.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills with a structured approach to problem‑solving and solution development.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with great judgment to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.
  • Creative thinker, open to exploring innovative approaches and new ways of working.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary of up to £50,000 dependent on experience
  • Annual company & performance‑based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10 x annual salary)
  • Private medical cover
  • 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
  • Wellbeing services & resources
  • AXA employee discounts
