Are you looking for a role with increased responsibility? There is a vacancy for a Principal Clinical Scientist based in the Radiotherapy Physics Department at the Royal Preston Hospital.
You will join an enthusiastic and friendly team of 17 clinical scientists, 12 dosimetrists, 8 engineers and a quality manager. In addition to this we also currently have 3 STP trainees and looking to actively recruit apprentice engineers into our team.
You will already be HCPC registered as a clinical scientist and have or close to gaining Medical Physics Expert certification by RPA2000.
We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled and motivated clinical scientist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will work in the Imaging and Clinical Computing section and act as a Medical Physics Expert within the wider radiotherapy department.
This is an opportunity for an individual with a strong background in clinical computing to support management of a wide range of radiotherapy systems. The successful applicant will also collaborate with the Trust IT department to ensure effective system and data governance, ensuring safe delivery of state-of-the-art radiotherapy.
You will also provide MPE level support and take part in wide ranging clinical duties from treatment planning and quality control to research and innovation.
Rosemere Cancer Centre is on the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Royal Preston Hospital site and provides an external beam radiotherapy service for the adult population of Lancashire and South Cumbria (1.6 million population).

Treatment planning is conducted on Pinnacle throughout the department. Some treatment planning is also being carried out on Raystation.
