Service Care Solutions is working alongside a growing local authority, based in Reading, which is looking to appoint an experienced Principal Child Care Solicitor to support the Strategic Lead for Children’s Law and manage a Child Care Court Team within the Joint Legal Team.

Details

• Role: Principal Child Care Solicitor
• Location: Reading - hybrid
• Umbrella Rate: £55- £60ph
• PAYE Inc. Rate: £48.44 - £52.79ph
• Contract Length: 3 months ongoing

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical support to the Interim Strategic Lead and contribute to service-wide strategic improvements.
• Mentor junior solicitors and deliver training on childcare law, PLO, and court practice.
• Engage effectively with social care teams, judiciary, and external counsel.
• Provide strategic advice on complex and high-risk cases.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of PQE in Childcare law as a Solicitor in England and Wales (with a current Practicing Certificate).
• Significant experience in public law children’s proceedings.
• Ideally experience as a senior solicitor with managerial responsibilities.
• The ability to travel to Reading when required.
