A leading engineering and professional services firm is seeking a Rail Modelling and Simulation Analyst in Birmingham, UK. In this role, you will become the UK expert in Discrete Event Simulation using AnyLogic, lead team development, and engage with clients to promote innovative modelling solutions. Our Rail Operations performance and modelling team is continuing to grow, to support this continued growth we are looking for a rail modelling and simulation analyst, with experience in Discrete Event Simulation (DES). We have a growing capability in delivering DES within a rail environment. We are looking to appoint an experienced person to act a our UK based expert in delivering DES using AnyLogic, whilst also being capable of supporting our wider Rail modelling and simulation projects
As our UK DES Expert you will champion its use, engaging internally and externally to support business development opportunities. You will support our Rail Operational planning Technical Discipline lead to build, develop and innovate our DES offering to our clients. In project roles you will act as lead for AnyLogic work overseeing work delivered by UK and India based resources. You will support the development and growth of our junior resources, supporting their technical capabilities to deliver DES and act in client facing roles to promote and demonstrate the value this form of modelling can bring to our clients. In your role you will be expected to engage the wider WSP digital community of practice and help support our growth in digital advisory work.
It is expected that you will have an Engineering, mathematics or computer science related degree and be professionally registered with expereince in both Rail Simulation & modelling and, DES. It is expected your experience will include the following:
