Are you a practical proactive and reliable individual with a passion for maintaining safe and welcoming school environments?

Southgate Primary School are looking to appoint a reliable and efficient full‑time Premises Assistant/Caretaker on a permanent basis.

Your Opportunity

Ideally you will have some experience in a similar role or can demonstrate a keen interest in maintenance and DIY and an awareness of Health and Safety. The successful candidate will work to ensure the security of the school buildings and health and safety compliance carrying out a programme of maintenance work and monitoring the repair and maintenance work of others as directed by the Headteacher. As a key holder the role will also include security of the school premises including all buildings and contents.

What we are looking for
  • Have good awareness of Health and Safety
  • Full UK Drivers License; occasional travel to Kilnwood Vale Primary, Greenway Primary & Forge Wood Primary may be required
  • Be able to work to their own initiative
  • Be capable of carrying out basic maintenance and DIY tasks
  • Have good oral and written communication skills
  • Be keen to contribute positively to the life of a school
