Requirements

Recent and relevant experience of working with children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years. Holds a Level 3 qualification in childcare. Knowledge of child development, to ensure records and observations are up to date. Knowledge of health and safety requirements relevant to childcare settings. Good written and verbal skills with adults and children. SEN Experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement age‑appropriate activities and educational programs to meet the individual needs and interests of each child, regularly assessing and recording children's progress and collaborating with parents and guardians.
  • Tailor your approach to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, creating an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Lead a team of dedicated nursery practitioners, providing guidance and support in delivering high‑quality childcare and educational experiences, supporting and training new staff and explaining room expectations.
  • Ensure all children requiring extra support such as targets are completed by you or your team, checking them daily to maintain ongoing support; monitor and maintain the well‑being of each child, promptly addressing any health concerns and communicating effectively with parents and guardians.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the overall administrative responsibilities of the nursery; attend room leader meetings and accept board advice, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture through open communication and shared commitment to the nursery's mission and values.
