A local government authority in Birmingham seeks a Senior Practitioner to lead social work practices. The role includes supervising social workers, applying risk management, and developing new service provisions. Candidates should have significant social work experience and be registered with Social Work England. An exciting fixed term opportunity to work across a busy multi-disciplinary project team as a Senior Practitioner to oversee and facilitate social work practices. You will work as part of the community social work team to deliver on person-centred practices where citizens are enabled to exercise choice, control, independence, with a focus on positive risk enablement and making safeguarding personal in accordance with the Care Act 2014. You will have significant social work experience and proven ability to manage a small cluster of experienced Social Workers. You will have the ability to work positively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, in partnership with other stakeholders, along with experience and understanding of project management and the complexities associated with achieving targets. You will also be required to have significant experience of risk management and the ability to support practitioners with the application of alternative service provision for citizens and carers, focusing on their independence whilst creating less dependency on traditional services. You will supervise qualified social workers, ensuring best practice in adherence to legislative and policy requirements, providing effective supervision and support with professional development, and supporting the Team Manager with daily effective project reporting. You will also be required to participate in the development of new service provision as and when directed and expected to collaborate with internal partners. You should be registered with Social Work England.
