Wansford and Kings Cliffe Practice has a vacancy for an experienced Practice Nurse for 3-4 days a week. (to include some 8am starts and some 6pm finishes)

There may be the opportunity to develop into a nurse lead role should you have or develop the necessary experience.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring the delivery ofsafe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population across bothWansford Surgery and our branch surgery, Kings Cliffe.

Must be able to deliver a whole range of nursing duties to include but not limited to:-

ECG's, dressings, smears, travel vaccinations, baby immunisations, women's health

Wansford Surgery is a thriving and well establishedindependent Practice serving circa 10500 patients across 120 square miles ofrural territory nestling between Stamford and Oundle. We are a highly regarded training practice,with a strong ethos of education and professional development to enable us todeliver the highest possible standard of care.

Our current nursing team comprises two part time practice nurses, a full time HCA, a part time phlebotomist and a full time Cardiology Specialist Nurse.

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the PracticeNurse. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks.This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

The Practice Nurse should be able to undertake the full range of treatment room duties including cervical smears, baby and travel immunisations, chronic disease management including diabetes, asthma and COPD, dressings, ECG's etc

a. Toassess the needs of patients ensuring the provision of healthcare isappropriate, incorporating evidence-based practice

b. Toimplement and evaluate individual treatment plans for chronic diseasepatients that promote health and wellbeing

c. Toidentify, manage and support patients at risk of developing long-termconditions, preventing adverse effects to patients health

d. Asrequired, to provide routine nursing care to patients in accordance withclinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF

e. Asrequired, to diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions

f. Torequest pathology services and process pathology results as required

g. Tooversee the provision of chronic disease clinics, delivering patient care asnecessary, referring patients to secondary/specialist care as required

h. Tomaintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with extant legislation

i. Toensure the appropriate maintenance and use of chronic disease registers

j. Toensure compliance with the practice chaperone policy

k. Toassist GPs with minor surgery when required
