Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly Practice Nurse to join our team for a 6 month fixed term, part‑time role of approx 9 hours a week. The successful candidate will cover study leave and a growing demand for appointments.

About Us

We are a busy, diverse teaching practice of 15,000 patients in Borehamwood with good links to London and Hertfordshire. We operate a total triage system and offer a full complement of General Practice services.

Role Details

The role is to cover a combination of study leave and an increase in surgery population size. We need a practice nurse to work for approx 9 hours a week, split over 2 days or a single day, but would need to be a Thursday/Friday due to room availability.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all treatment room activities, including wound care, cervical cytology, and adult and childhood immunisations.
• Additional skills of benefit are NHS Health checks, ear irrigation, dopplers and travel assessment, though these are not essential.

Person Specification

Experience (Essential)

• 3 years experience working in General Practice, with competencies in Cervical Cytology, Wound Care, and adult & childhood immunisations.
• Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis.

Experience (Desirable)

• Travel Vaccination qualification.
• Ear Irrigation Qualification.
• Experience of managing NHS Health checks & Diabetes Prevention Clinics.
