Power Markets Senior Analyst, Client Solutions

Description

Aurora’s Software Solutions team is building the global investment analytics platform for the energy transition. Widely adopted by leading energy companies and investors, the platform changes the way that energy market analytics is performed and delivered. In order to develop this platform in lockstep with what users need and enable users to meet increasingly complex requirements through our software products, Aurora is building a global Client Solutions function that sits at the critical interface between the software and the end users.

We are currently looking for a Power Markets Senior Analyst to join the Client Solutions team in Oxford, to support the deployment and adoption of Aurora’s power markets modelling software in GB and Ireland. The successful candidate will combine power markets knowledge, with keen analytical ability and a flair for client-facing interactions. They will be comfortable operating in a highly cross‑functional role and be able to seamlessly navigate the complexities of power markets forecasting, and communicate insights to clients across the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support leading developers, utilities and funds to adopt Aurora’s power markets modelling software into their strategic investment decisions and transactions
  • Train clients on how to use our software products, guide them to create their own bespoke forecasts, and provide level 1 support to help them interpret results and derive valuable insights that inform their decision‑making processes
  • Help scope out client deliverables and then take ownership of analysis and delivery
  • Support clients using our software during financing processes by performing rigorous checks of inputs and outputs and presenting results to key stakeholders
  • Work closely with the software product teams to convey feature requests, product use cases and other client feedback in order to inform product roadmaps
  • Collaborate with commercial account managers to engage with users and drive product adoption and satisfaction
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required attributes:

  • At least 1 year of experience in an analytical role in the energy, consulting, tech, or financial services sectors, or another such knowledge‑driven sector
  • Analytically proficient, with ability to derive insights from complex quantitative data using Excel
  • Ability to take ownership of projects or workstreams and drive them end to end
  • Strong communication skills, with a flair for client‑facing interactions, and ability to explain complex topics to both technically and non‑technically minded parties
  • Good stakeholder management and teamwork skills, with experience and passion for solving complex problems
  • Ability to assess problems from a 360‑degree view and come up with an approach that takes knock on impact into account
  • Self‑starter with creative problem‑solving approach

Desirable attributes:

  • Understanding of GB and/or Irish power markets
  • Experience in leading and delivering time‑critical projects
  • SQL, python and/or Power BI proficiency
