The Role

Westway Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Post Children Services Manager (Early Years) to manage, develop, and expand our Nursery and Crèche services. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Learning, you will lead a dedicated team, working closely with staff, partners, commissioners, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, affordable, and culturally appropriate childcare. Your leadership will contribute to maintaining excellent standards, achieving our growth ambitions, and fostering a strong sense of community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Nursery and Crèche team to deliver high-quality early years education.
  • Work with the finance team to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Maintain and improve our Ofsted rating by ensuring consistent quality assurance and service development.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee staff development and support training and growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Trust policies and practices.
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection standards are met and maintained.
  • Represent Westway Trust at community events and activities related to early years services.
  • Work with marketing to enhance communications, branding, and recruitment efforts.

Personal Skills:
  • A Level 4 childcare qualification or higher.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a Nursery, including monitoring, reporting, and quality improvement.

  • Strong team leadership skills, with experience supporting staff development and managing resources.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write reports and share data.

  • Knowledge of the local community, or experience working in North Kensington, is desirable.
