Job description

Who we are

At Fortis Games we aspire to make great games that bring people together while redefining how game companies work. We believe in building a sense of belonging through our games, their communities, and how we operate and treat each other. Through our game communities, we will create powerful connections and lasting memories. We will foster a culture of diversity, equity and belonging where together our diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds impact the games we make.

We are an early but mighty organization with a leadership team of game industry veterans. There are many opportunities for you to have a big impact on the products we'll be making as well as the overall direction of the company. If you're passionate about tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and team first mentality, we may be the right place for you.

About the role

If you're a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a passion for the business of games, we have a leadership opportunity that might be perfect for you. As a Portfolio Strategy Lead at Fortis Games, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how we evaluate game investments, allocate capital, and make long-term product decisions.

You’ll work closely with our Head of Market Intelligence and Portfolio Strategy to develop and operationalize frameworks that help Fortis make smarter bets across our product portfolio. This is a high-impact role where you’ll partner with leaders across the company to ensure that our greenlight and investment decisions are grounded in clarity, structure, and strategic insight.

This role is ideal for someone who can think like an investor and speak the language of games—someone who enjoys building tools that drive decision-making and thrives in cross-functional, fast-moving environments.

  • Support the development of a portfolio management framework that helps Fortis balance creative ambition with business discipline.

  • Help design and implement a game greenlight process grounded in clear evaluation criteria.

  • Build tools and dashboards that provide visibility into the health of the portfolio and surface actionable insights for leadership.

  • Track and analyze external signals like game launches, UA trends, and platform shifts and connect them to Fortis’ internal hypotheses and planning.

  • Work cross-functionally with product, publishing, finance, and market intelligence teams to gather inputs and stress-test assumptions.

  • Translate ambiguous opportunities into structured analysis and clear recommendations.

  • Help senior leadership rebalance risk vs. opportunity across product lines and guide long-term planning.
What you’ll achieve
  • Contribute to a structured portfolio map that guides Fortis’s investment and product strategy.

  • Implement a repeatable, transparent evaluation system for greenlighting new games.

  • Strengthen the connection between market trends and product development decisions.

  • Help foster a decision-making culture rooted in data, structure, and long-term value creation.

What you’ll need to be successful
  • Experience in investment strategy, corporate development, VC, or finance with a strong strategic lens.

  • Exposure to the games industry (mobile, console, or PC) or adjacent entertainment sectors.

  • Familiarity with concepts like capital allocation, portfolio frameworks, and risk-adjusted returns.

  • Ability to synthesize complex data and ambiguous inputs into clear frameworks and tools.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to turn strategic insight into clear, structured narratives.

  • Confidence working independently while also collaborating closely with senior leadership.

  • A proactive mindset and a passion for helping creative teams succeed through clarity and structure.

Why join us

There are many reasons to join us, but here are a few:

  • We strongly believe we are changing how games studios operate and at the core of what we do is making great games that create a connected community
  • We're not just about making Games Where You Belong. We're also about building communities where our people belong. That's why Fortis is a thriving environment that celebrates diversity, embraces inclusivity, and fosters growth.
  • Build and grow with a seasoned team of accomplished talent who have left an impactful mark in their disciplines, both in and out of gaming
