Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Porter / Coordinator to join our Healthcare team at HMP Foston Hall, a closed prison located in Derbyshire.

Hours

Monday - Friday 0800 - 1600

Salary

This position is full‑time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £28,574 per annum FTE – depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide a high standard of portering services and housekeeping, escorting visitors and contractors into and around the prison.
  • Support clinicians with the flow of patients, record attendance to appointments and facilitate patient access for booked appointments into healthcare.
  • Co‑ordinate management of deliveries, stores and stock control, and monitor and order stock as necessary, paying attention to expiry dates and cost of equipment.
  • Oversee IPC compliance.
  • Support site visits for authorised external visitors of healthcare.
  • Co‑ordinate completion and submission of tool sheets as well as other duties that may be required.
  • Deliver a tidy healthcare area, monitoring and ordering stock as necessary, paying attention to expiry dates and cost of equipment.
  • Inspire excellence by dealing with patients and colleagues professionally.
  • Promote professionalism within the completion of your duties to ensure a tidy, safe environment is maintained across all healthcare areas.
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, and build multi‑disciplinary teams of clinical and non‑clinical colleagues who support each other to do a great job.
