Overview
We are looking for a passionate individual who will support learners within the workplace in achieving relevant frameworks. The role involves assessing learners on the EAL Building Services Engineering (Level 3) – Plumbing and Heating.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the assessment and progression of a caseload of learners to achieve the set operational key performance indicators, including recruitment of learners, monitoring progression and achieving the qualification to meet contract requirements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements within all areas of the learners’ journey, which includes but not exclusive to health and safety vetting and monitoring, WEST testing, learner sign up and exit paperwork and on-programme reviews.
- Undertake internal quality assurance (IQA) as outlined by the Awarding Organisation and directed by the Line Manager, including attending quality assurance meetings.
- Actively engage with employers whilst on visits to promote work-based learning and follow up leads and enquiries in a timely manner.
- Actively develop the literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy of learners.
Qualifications and requirements
- The successful candidate will hold their Assessor Award:
- Unit: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
- Unit: Assess occupational competence in the work environment
- Legacy Qualifications (D32/D32/D34, A1 and V1) will be accepted.
- The Assessor must hold a relevant NVQ or equivalent to the full occupational competence threshold of the trade and/or have registration with a relevant trade body or appropriate recognition evidencing competence in the trade.
- Welsh language skills would be desirable.
- A clean driving licence and access to own transport since travel is integral to this role.
- Registration with the Educational Workforce Council for Wales (EWC Wales) is a mandatory requirement of the post.
- All vacancies are subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; employment will not commence without a valid up-to-date DBS check.
- Compliance with the College’s procedures for the Suitability of Ex-offenders for Employment is available upon request.
- Two references are required before commencement, one from your present or most recent employer; referees will be contacted upon appointment.
