Plumbing Contract Manager — Wakefield

Are you an experienced plumbing or mechanical professional ready to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a proactive Plumbing Contract Manager to join a well‑established building services provider based in Wakefield.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of a portfolio of mechanical and plumbing projects across the region.
  • Manage a team of field‑based engineers, ensuring smooth delivery of all works.
  • Oversee contracts from initial scope to completion.
  • Prepare accurate estimates and scoping documents for mechanical/plumbing projects.
  • Coordinate and order materials to ensure projects run efficiently.
  • Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation and company policies.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide professional support.
  • Monitor contract performance, budgets, and profitability.
  • Work closely with the Electrical Manager and other team members to ensure a smooth collaboration.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications within Building Engineering Services or related Engineering equivalent.
  • City and Guilds in Plumbing (etc.).
  • SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, IOSH or Nebosh – highly desirable.
  • Previous responsibility for managing engineers or overseeing multi‑site contracts.
  • Strong understanding of scoping, estimating, and delivering mechanical works.
  • Excellent knowledge of health & safety and compliance standards.
  • Proactive, organised approach with strong communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (company car provided).
