Job summary

Job Overview

Our local authority client based in York is looking for a qualified plumber to start immediately. This role is temporary for a minimum of three months, with the potential to become permanent.

Key Requirements
  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Plumbing
  • Experience as a plumber (residential and/or commercial)
  • Current UK driving licence
  • Proven track record of working in a customer‑focused environment carrying out building repairs, maintenance and renewals
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy, reactive workload
Responsibilities
  • Carry out emergency and routine reactive repairs on numerous sites daily, as well as single‑site programmed repairs and refurbishment work
  • Work within the York District using your own transport
  • Operate within a pre‑allocated appointment system, Monday to Friday, 37 hours a week
  • Collaborate with a wider team, follow instructions, and work independently when required
Employment Details

Hourly rate up to £25.00, depending on experience.
