PLC Software Engineer - North Nottinghamshire - Permanent - £30-65k + private health care

Samuel Frank is recruiting for a PLC Software Engineer, ideally with knowledge of either Rockwell or Siemens systems, to join a well‑established systems integrator based in North Nottinghamshire.

Open to hiring a Junior PLC Software Engineer up to a Senior level Software Engineer.

Key aspects of the PLC Software Engineer role include:
  • Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC software writing capability – need strong skills in one platform with exposure to the other.
  • Process industry experience, e.g., food, brewery, water sector.
  • Demonstrable experience of programming PLCs from scratch and commissioning software on customer premises.
  • Good customer‑facing skills and the ability to handle pressure situations while commissioning on site.
  • A logical approach to developing well‑structured PLC software.
  • 70/30 split between office work and customer sites (UK only).
  • 90% of site work lasts 2–3 weeks and does not involve weekend work; larger jobs can be 6–8 weeks, also without weekend work.
  • Suitable for a graduate with 1–2 years of experience up to a seasoned professional with a long successful career programming PLCs.
  • UK driving licence required.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.

The client is easily commutable from Nottingham, Newark‑on‑Trent, Mansfield, Chesterfield and Worksop.
