Job summary

A leading construction materials firm in the UK is seeking a Leading Hand to oversee plant operations and maintain safety standards. This role includes managing day-to-day activities, conducting risk assessments, and leading a team to achieve operational efficiency. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Knowledge of plant and equipment operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise operational activities within the plant.
  • Manage day-to-day plant operations and haulage engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with SHE standards and performance targets.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work.
  • Monitor and manage plant housekeeping standards.

Skills

Manufacturing or production experience
Knowledge of plant and equipment operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to lead and motivate a team
