Job summary

A local recruitment agency is seeking a Planning Officer for a temporary full-time role in Enfield. The successful candidate will assess planning applications, represent clients at hearings, and provide pre-application advice to developers. Applicants should have strong negotiation skills and experience in planning. This position offers £32.19 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Experience in assessing planning applications and making recommendations.

Overview

Planning Officer needed in Enfield, £32.19ph PAYE – Reference: RQ1605771



Responsibilities


  • To assess all types of planning and associated applications including site visit (generally unaccompanied), consultation, negotiation, written report and recommendation to agreed timescales, including responsibility for major development proposals.

  • Deal with planning appeals and represent the Client at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries.

  • Deal with planning enquiries from agents, applicants and the public.

  • Give pre-application planning advice to prospective developers.

  • Advise local Societies, Associations and Groups on planning issues, including attendance at meetings as required.

  • Deal with correspondence arising from development control work.

  • Negotiate agreements under S.106 of the Town and Country Planning Act where appropriate to secure wider benefit from development proposals.

  • Deal with correspondence on planning issues from MP’s and Councillors.

  • Act as Duty Planning officer on a rota basis

  • Attendance at Planning Committee

This is a full time role on a temporary basis.
