Looking to level up your planning career with a company that builds more than just buildings? A respected main contractor is looking for a Planner to join their Manchester team. With a pipeline packed with high-value projects in logistics, data centres, retail and commercial, it’s a brilliant place to learn, grow and contribute from day one.

This Planner role offers the perfect mix of challenge and support. You’ll be working under experienced Senior Planners who will guide you through both pre-construction and live project work. While 90% of your time will be focused on tender planning, you’ll also get to dip into live site support, helping to shape programmes from concept to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing tender and construction programmes using ASTA
• Work alongside Senior Planners, Estimators and Project Managers
• Help monitor progress and update programmes during project delivery

Get exposure to both JCT and NEC forms of contract

This is a brilliant opportunity if you’re currently operating as an Assistant Planner or already working at Planner level. The company is open to different levels of experience, from Assistant through to Project Planner, as long as you bring the right mindset, enthusiasm, and a hunger to grow.

You’ll join a tight-knit planning team in a business that turns over more than £500m nationally, with £150m+ coming from the Northern region alone. Projects typically range from £10m to £100m+, with many in the logistics and industrial sectors. NEC experience is a nice-to-have, but not essential. Training, mentoring and support are part of the deal.

Based in Manchester, you’ll work from the office four days a week, with one day either at home or on site. The company offers genuine flexibility for life outside work, including things like school pickups or life admin, as long as the work gets done.
