Job description

Planner roles available now for tendering and planning Nuclear works in Suffolk ahead of future opportunities being awarded.

Location: Suffolk, site based some remote working available

Hours: 45 hours per week – 07:30am to 17:30pm Monday to Friday – some flexibility on start and finish times available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Planner, you'll be working within the Nuclear team, supporting them in the successful delivery of projects and be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project programmes, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and provide accurate data to support commercial, delivery, and risk management functions.

Your day to day will include:

  • Prepare, maintain, and update NEC‑compliant project programmes, developing detailed construction schedules in Primavera P6 with robust logic, milestones, constraints, and critical path analysis
  • Provide planning input for Early Warnings, Compensation Events, programme submissions, and EoT assessments while supporting commercial teams with delay and disruption analysis
  • Monitor progress through site visits, meetings, and data verification, producing weekly/monthly reports, dashboards, KPIs, and planned‑vs‑actual performance analysis
  • Collaborate with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and commercial staff to provide forecasting, planning advice, and informed decision‑making
  • Maintain risk registers, develop mitigation strategies, and support scenario planning, “what‑if” analysis, and recovery planning to manage project risks and opportunities
What are we looking for?
  • Experience as a Planner/Scheduler within construction, civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure with strong working knowledge of NEC contract requirements and procedures.
  • Proficiency in P6 planning software.
  • Understanding of critical path, resource planning, and earned value.
  • Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Membership or working towards membership of APM, ICE, CIOB, or similar.
  • Relevant experience in major projects such as highways, rail, water, power, or public sector infrastructure.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Working towards institute membership (ICE/CIOB).
