Job summary

A leading construction firm is seeking a detail-oriented Planner to join their Birmingham Highways Maintenance team. You will create and manage project schedules for capital works projects, ensuring timelines align with program objectives. The ideal candidate has proven experience in highways maintenance and strong organizational skills. This is a 12-month fixed-term role with a competitive salary of £27,976 to £33,000 per year along with an excellent benefits package.

Are you a detail-oriented Planner looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? We're looking for a proactive Planner to join our Birmingham Highways Maintenance Contract team based in Thimble Mill Lane. In this role you will develop and manage programmes for our Capital Works projects.

Location: Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham - site based 5 days per week

Hours: 12-month Fixed Term 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

Salary: £27,976 - £33,000 per year + excellent benefits

What will you be responsible for?
  • Creating and maintaining project schedules, allocating resources effectively across multiple projects
  • Tracking progress against milestones and preparing insightful reports for stakeholders
  • Identifying potential scheduling conflicts and developing contingency plans
  • Facilitating communication between planning and delivery teams
  • Ensuring project timelines align with overall programme objectives
What are we looking for?
  • Have proven experience in highways maintenance and project planning within capital works
  • Are confident using Microsoft Office and comfortable working with project management tools
  • Bring excellent organisational skills and a strong eye for detail
  • Communicate clearly and naturally build strong and effective relationships
  • Enjoy problem-solving and take a proactive approach to risk management
