A leading technology company in Northern Ireland is seeking Placement Software Engineers who are passionate about leveraging new technologies. In this role, you will work within Agile teams, developing innovative solutions and enhancing customer experiences. Essential qualifications include being enrolled in a relevant computing or software engineering degree with a minimum 2.1 classification. Previous experience in technology is desirable. This is an exciting opportunity to join a Fortune 500 company building great technology locally.
While Aflac are a Fortune 500 U.S. company and one of the largest brands in the US and Japan, there is a very good chance you’ve not heard of us (yet). Here’s the deal: We help people cover medical expenses beyond their standard health insurance, and when they come to us they really need us. In Belfast, we are building great technology to support our customers in their time of need. Using a variety of software technologies and AWS cloud to deliver core capabilities to our policyholders, makes it easy for our customers to interact with us, change policy information, submit claims – all from the device in their pocket or tablet, desktop or laptop all facilitated by in house-built API and AWS cloud data solutions. Our focus is on ensuring our customers can interact with us how they choose which is why we’re building an omni-channel experience to our policyholders, ensuring that their interactions with Aflac are as seamless as possible.
We want Placement Software Engineers who get excited about new technologies, who leverage AI in a responsible way, increasing efficiency while maintaining control and understanding the output. As part of our Agile teams, we will provide you with the training and the exposure to get you rapidly up to speed with our technologies and our data and present you with technology problems that influence how we are making things better for our customers. We might be looking at trends in the sales data from our agents who sell Aflac’s policies or using workflow automation to speed up how we process customer claims and get them the money they need as quickly as possible or building chatbots that provide a virtual assistant experience to our customers and help them in their time of need. Ultimately, we want the solutions you will help build to provide data driven insights to our users, business partners and customers. We adopt a “let’s try it!” approach to problem-solving and will be incorporating new approaches that feed into our innovation strategy.
So whilst you will be challenged (in a positive way) we want you to bring your ideas and imagination – we want to hear from you.
