We’re on the lookout for qualified and experienced Pilates teachers with a passion for helping people and a strong understanding of the Pilates methodology.
We’re looking for the best, so it’s important that you are a participant-focused teacher who puts your students first. We’re not looking for instructors, we’re looking for teachers who have a strong command of functional anatomy as it relates to movement. We’re especially keen to hear from teachers that have experience of teaching Pilates in a clinical and corrective context.
We have a number of freelance openings for a range of mat and reformer Pilates classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced participants, including mixed-ability sessions also. We’re ideally looking for teachers who can deliver multiple sessions each week.
When you join our team, you’re part of the family….
Here at HFE, we’re renowned for our Pilates prowess and we have a reputation for training excellence.
Our Pilates studio is a fully functional multi-purpose Pilates space designed for Pilates classes, one-to-one sessions, and training and education for Pilates teachers.
Aside from the given (competitive rates of pay, high levels of support, flexibility, and job satisfaction), you’ll also get the opportunity to be involved in other activities, including:
We are primarily looking for freelance instructors who will be employed on a self-employed basis to deliver regular mat and reformer sessions.
Teachers will largely be responsible for their own session planning and delivery, although our studio coordinator may on occasion observe sessions to ensure that they adhere to our high standards of professional practice.
Sessions will be paid between £25-35.00 per session depending on qualifications and experience. There are also opportunities to earn more per session by maximising attendance and participant adherence over time.
We’re looking to develop a local Pilates community that is focused on meeting the needs of all participants. It’s essential that our teachers live and breathe the extra mile philosophy, and support our brand values and ethos, both in letter and spirit.
First and foremost, you’ll be required to plan and teach high-quality matwork and reformer-based Pilates sessions to small groups of varying abilities.
You’ll need to be able to create a warm and inclusive environment in which all participants have the opportunity to improve their Pilates practice.
You will need a keen eye for detail, being able to recognise opportunities to correct participant’s position and movement, often with hands‑on correction.
You must have high‑standards of professionalism, and be able to work as part of a wider‑team, ensuring that participants adhere to our studio etiquette.
Before and after sessions, teachers will need to ensure that the Pilates studio is clean, tidy and ready for the next Pilates session.
On application, you will need to hold:
We are also keen to hear from applicants that hold classical and/or comprehensive Pilates teacher training certificates that don’t align with the standard regulated qualification framework (RQF).
You will need a minimum of 12 months live teaching experience in a health club or studio environment. We are not looking for applications from newly qualified teachers at this stage. We do however have some opportunities for newly qualified instructors to support delivery and gain invaluable experience via our internship programme.
