We have an exciting opportunity for a part‑time Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP New Hall in Wakefield.

HMP New Hall is a female adult and young offenders institution offering medium‑level security with a population of 344 female.

The Pharmacy team consists of one pharmacist, two dispensers and the rest are pharmacy technicians. We have an in‑house pharmacy located in the healthcare department and the technicians also work in the wings.

Hours
  • The role is based on 30 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 6:45 am – 6 pm
  • Weekends, 6:45 am – 5 pm
  • 4‑week rolling rota
  • 1 weekend in 4
Salary

This part‑time position offers an annual salary of £34,428 – £41,658 per annum (pro‑rota) depending on experience.

Main duties
  • Provide outstanding, patient‑centred care, listening to and acting on patient feedback to personalise services.
  • Maintain safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient records and standard operating procedures are upheld to a high standard.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, including timely medicine administration and cost‑effective prescribing as defined by our Health in Justice medicines policy.
  • Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent
