Job summary

A prominent NHS Trust in London seeks a dedicated Storekeeper to manage stock and support the Drug Distribution Service. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services and be proactive in training new staff. Responsibilities include stock management, unpacking deliveries, and maintaining compliance with Good Distribution Practice. This full-time role requires participation in the weekend and bank holiday rota.

Qualifications

Job description
Overview

The Storekeeper will report to the Section Manager in Purchasing and Distribution. The post holder will predominantly be based in the Pharmacy Stores and Distribution department. The Post holder will support the Drug Distribution Service when necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Help to manage stock and provide a ward top-up service (including replenishing Omnicell cabinets) when required.
  • Receive and unpack deliveries from external suppliers and store drugs away, dealing promptly with any discrepancies according to SOPs.
  • Check expiry dates and rotate stock.
  • Maintain good housekeeping by ensuring benches are kept clear of drugs no longer required and stored appropriately.
  • Deal with non-clinical inquiries from patients and other healthcare professionals.
  • Be compliant with the requirements of Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
  • Assist in training and induction of new staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • The post holder should have an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
  • Good GCSEs or equivalent and obtained or working towards a full NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services or equivalent.
Working Pattern

This is a full time post and the post holder will be required to participate in the weekend & bank holiday rota.
