Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Pharmacy Dispenser to support the delivery of pharmacy services at HMP Northumberland. You will assist with medication supply and ensure compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ level 2 in Pharmaceutical Sciences and at least 2 years of experience in a community or hospital pharmacy. Flexible working options are available.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service.
  • Support the delivery of Pharmacy Services including supply of medication.
  • Supervise administration of medication to prisoners.

Overview

The Pharmacy Department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Pharmacy Dispenser to support us in the delivery of pharmacy services at HMP Northumberland. This is an opportunity to join our committed team working to provide a variety of support roles across the establishment. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. If you are a motivated individual with a desire to enhance your pharmacy skills, we offer training and development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, while maintaining a high level of security. The post holder will be an integral member of the Healthcare Team. You will support the delivery of Pharmacy Services which will include supply of medication, supervision of administration of medication to prisoners, and providing services to service users within your competency.
