Job description

Overview

A Personal Assistant is required to support a person with a physical impairment (power wheelchair user) with all aspects of health needs and daily living. You would be assisting a young disabled male, who is an academic at a university, and who lives with his partner and dog.

Responsibilities

• Health-related tasks and personal care
• Use of hoists and medical devices
• Cooking/assist with eating
• General errands and household tasks
• Support with the pet dog
• Travel (driving) and assisting the individual to carry out their work, including occasional long-distance commute to work

Requirements

Training and Employment Details

• You do not need prior experience of working in a healthcare/personal care setting; full training will be provided
• 12 hour shifts, up to 24 hours per week available (based on 2 shifts per week)

• Employed directly by the individual requiring assistance
