A community health service provider in Brighton seeks Personal Assistants for an individual with learning and neurological disabilities. Responsibilities include attending to personal care needs, medication management, and engaging in community activities. Candidates must have a driver's license and experience in care. The role guarantees permanent positions with 12, 18, or 24 hours per week at a rate of £12.60 per hour. The position offers shifts from Monday to Saturday, providing a supportive environment for both personal and social growth.
John, a chatty and cheery 41‑year‑old male who lives in Cumbernauld, requires two Personal Assistants. John has learning and neurological disabilities; he likes structure and routine in his daily life and enjoys many activities. He loves a chat and a laugh, getting out and about, meeting people, going swimming, cycling, bowling, and visiting museums like the Transport Museum. He enjoys drama, music and being outdoors.
Your role will involve attending to all personal care needs; getting up in the morning, toileting, including bowel movements, washing, shaving, and getting dressed. Also giving medication, light housework and preparing snacks is included in this role. Being involved in the community and meeting people is important to John, who can struggle with confidence and self‑esteem.
A driver is essential, and you will be required to use your own vehicle – mileage allowance will be paid. Experience is required. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
