Personal Care Assistant – SEN School in Oldham

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We’re looking for a dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join a welcoming and highly supportive SEN school in Oldham. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex needs, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and fully included in their school day.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver personal care support, including hygiene routines, feeding, mobility assistance and toileting.
  • Provide nurturing, patient and consistent support to pupils with complex learning, physical or medical needs.
  • Work alongside teachers, therapists and SEN specialists to follow individual care plans.
  • Support communication, sensory needs and emotional regulation.
  • Help pupils access learning, sensory activities and structured routines.
  • Maintain a safe, dignified and inclusive environment for all students.
Requirements
  • Experience in personal care, care work, SEN support or similar roles (school or care setting).
  • A compassionate, calm and reliable approach.
  • Confidence working with pupils with physical disabilities, medical needs or PMLD.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • Willingness to assist with full personal care.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
