About the Role

A caring and supportive personal assistant is required for a happy, lively and energetic 6‑year‑old girl living in the Looe area. She is autistic and would like someone who can build up a positive relationship with her and provide her with some 1:1 support.

She would like someone to support her with her communication and social skills out in the community.

Her interests are swimming and preparing, cooking and eating food!

Your support will enable her to explore the local area, enjoy more social opportunities, and establish an engaging routine, particularly during weekends and school holidays, gaining independence away from her family.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person grow and achieve greater independence while making a positive impact on their life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one‑to‑one support to improve communication and social skills.
  • Assist with exploring the local area, social opportunities and routine building.
  • Promote independence, especially during weekends and school holidays.
Working Pattern & Pay

5 hours per week, flexible – some weekend and school holiday availability required.

Hourly rate: £13.00 + mileage expenses (car driver preferred but not essential).

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience or knowledge of working with young people with SEND essential.
  • Private arrangement with the family – not an employee of Cornwall Council.
