Job description

Personal Assistant required for a happy and active 10-year-old boy who lives in the St Eval/Wadebridge area.

He is severely autistic with dyspraxia and has difficulty with sensory processing. He would like someone who he can build up a positive relationship with and provide him with some 1:1 support.

He would like someone to support him with his independence out in the community. He loves being active outdoors. His interests are waterplay, and exploring beaches, parks and the woods. He also loves to visit shops and observe.

A personal assistant will enable him to enjoy activities in his local community, gaining independence and less reliance on his family.

Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check, the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.

Good rate of pay at £13 per hour. 10 hours per week are available, although this is very flexible. Weekend and school holiday availability will be required.
