A regional police force is seeking an experienced Secretary/Personal Assistant to support Chief Superintendents and Branch Heads in managing their workload and communications. The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office and audio typing. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively under pressure while maintaining confidentiality. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of related experience. This position offers opportunities to engage with various stakeholders within the police service.
We are looking for an experienced Secretary/Personal Assistant to support and manage the workload of our Chief Superintendents and Branch Heads. The post holder must be able to manage and plan meetings for critical roles within GMP. They must also manage and prioritise emails coming in and produce reports on behalf of the Chief Superintendents and Branch Heads which are then disseminated either upwards to Force Leadership Team, to peers or are Forcewide messages.
The successful candidate will provide an efficient Secretarial/PA service and be able to demonstrate the ability to liaise with senior officers and staff at all levels across GMP and other organisations. Possessing excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing you will be capable of working on your own initiative and working to tight and changing deadlines.
You will require excellent organisational skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure and high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times is essential.
You will have experience of developing and implementing administrative systems and using software packages, including spreadsheets and databases.
Knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Office applications, a typing speed of 35 wpm and experience of audio typing are essential.
