Overview

Job Title: Personal Assistant

Job Reference: PER26706/SR

Location: Spittal

Hourly Rate: £12.60 per hour

Hours Offered: 3 hours per week

Work Pattern: Saturday or Sunday

Reporting to: The Direct Payments Recipient

(The Direct Payments Recipient is the employer and they hold all the employer’s responsibilities associated with this role. Pembrokeshire County Council supports them to fulfil their employer obligations).

The Direct Payments recipient is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support with household chores, prompting with cleaning to continuously monitor to prevent safety hazards. To help engage the recipient in social activities of interest and to provide emotional support and companionship. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, which aims to enable the client to manage their support and meet their care needs independently. The successful applicant should be friendly and supportive and be able to work flexibly to meet the care needs of the client.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a reliable and trusting relationship with the person.
  • Support with household chores.
  • Ensure a structured set of activities are maintained.
  • Support the person to access activities of importance.
  • Develop one on one interactions with the person whilst undertaking outings out of doors and activities which include physical activities.
  • Communicate with the person’s family and wider support network.
  • Support the employer to develop independent living skills.
  • Provide companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation with the employer and providing them with social interaction.
  • Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours.
  • Be mindful of safeguarding issues, and feedback any concerns to the relevant authority.
  • Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.

Other Requirements

A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
