Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engaging and motivating woodwind lessons to pupils of varying ages and abilities.
  • Prepare students for music exams, auditions, and performances (e.g., ABRSM, Trinity).
  • Work collaboratively with Gwent Music to support the service’s musical activities, including ensembles and concerts.
  • Write reports and provide feedback to students and parents on progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and lesson plans.
Person Specification
  • Proficient in Woodwind with proven experience teaching students of primary and secondary school age.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A relevant music degree or considerable performance experience.
  • An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is essential.
