Overview

Performing Arts Technician. Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 (FTE) depending on experience. Hours: Full-time or part-time considered, term time only. Location: Hertfordshire. Contract: Permanent.

About the Role

You will work closely with teaching staff and students, providing technical and practical support across all performing arts disciplines. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and operating lighting, sound, and multimedia equipment for lessons, rehearsals, and performances
  • Supporting practical lessons and assessments
  • Maintaining and organising equipment, instruments, and performance spaces
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of school productions and events
  • Supporting extracurricular activities, including concerts, shows, and external trips
About You

We\'re looking for a proactive and adaptable individual with a passion for the performing arts. You should have:

  • Experience with technical theatre equipment (lighting, sound, AV systems)
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to supporting young people and their creative development
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting is desirable, but not essential. Training and development opportunities will be provided for the right candidate.
