We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic People Participation Facilitator to join the Academy of Research and Improvement, part of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration and is passionate about involving patients, carers, and communities in healthcare research and improvement.

You will work across the Academy and with external partners to embed inclusive and impactful participation in research. Your work will help ensure people and communities are central to how we design, deliver, and grow healthcare research.

Main duties of the job
  • Facilitate and support patient, public and community involvement in research and improvement projects across the Trust, with a primary focus on research.
  • Support patient representatives in their partnership with the Academy, ensuring meaningful and progressive approaches to Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE)
  • Organise and lead engagement activities such as forums and events, including leading on logistics and facilitation.
  • Contribute to planning and delivering new initiatives and training around inclusion and PPIE in research
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical and support teams to promote a culture of inclusive research and improvement.
  • Deliver training and coaching to staff and partners on participation methods and tools.
  • Be curious and proactive to learn and evolve in the field of people participation, embracing different theories and best practices.
  • Respond to feedback related to participation with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to inform participation strategies and outcomes.
  • Create clear, insightful reports and communications for a range of audiences including staff, patients, and community members.
  • Contribute to team meetings and team objectives to meet the Trust Strategy.
  • Manage own workload and workstreams, prioritising tasks and negotiating deadlines with stakeholders.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical practice in all aspects of the role.
