All new entrants to the NHS will be appointed on the minimum of the pay scale in line with Terms & Conditions., We are delighted to be looking for a People Advisor on a permanent contract to provide guidance and advice on a range of matters including terms & conditions, absence, discipline, grievance, harassment and bullying, organisational change, ensuring consistent application of employment law.

The successful candidate will be assigned to a clustering of business units / departments, working with a small team and a much wider support network of aligned corporate specialists, in a matrix model of working.

The People Advisor role is at the heart of our directorate model, reporting to the Deputy People & OD Lead and working closely with the directorate operational teams. Successful candidates will use initiative, self-motivation and self-direction, to manage own case loads, priorities and demands to ensure that work is delivered on time and meets quality and assurance standards., You will have a key role in supporting People & OD and the Trust to deliver the ambitions of the People Plan, providing operational advice and specialist knowledge on all Employee Relations and Terms & Conditions related matters.

Provide a comprehensive, high quality service focusing significantly on reducing sickness absence, delivering the timely conclusion of employee relations matters, and supporting organisational change processes.

  • To provide a comprehensive, high quality service focussing significantly on supporting line managers in managing and reducing sickness absence in specific areas.
  • To analyse sickness absence figures and reasons for absence in specific areas, in order to identify trends and concerns that can be proactively addressed.
  • Provide advice and support to managers on a wide range of complex or sensitive issues, working within policies and procedures - including disciplinary, capability, grievance, harassment and bullying, organisational change, job evaluation, redeployment, flexible working, terms and conditions, making judgements on a case‑by‑case basis.
  • To support People and OD Leads as required with corporate level projects and people policies, ensuring that they represent best practice, meet all appropriate employment legislation and NHS specific guidance, drive improvements and effective people practices.
  • Role modelling our values, taking the initiative and working collaboratively across all POD Teams to implement solutions that resolve underlying issues and create sustained change and improvement.
