A leading healthcare provider in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner. The role involves conducting assessments, developing and implementing strong support plans, and leading training sessions for staff. Candidates must hold a formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support or a related field, have experience with challenging behaviours, and be capable of working in demanding situations. The ideal candidate will hold a formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or a related field, such as a BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis, an MA or MSc in Autism Studies, or a PBS/ABA Graduate Diploma. They will have proven experience in conducting behavioural assessments and in developing, implementing, and evaluating interventions for individuals who present with behaviours that challenge, alongside a strong history of providing direct support to people with learning disabilities and/or autism. The role requires a detailed understanding of relevant legal frameworks and processes, including the Mental Health Act (1983), safeguarding, and risk management, as well as the willingness and ability to work in physically and emotionally demanding situations. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team while also leading and positively influencing others, supported by excellent record‑keeping, report‑writing, and written communication skills. Experience in delivering PBS training and a demonstrated history of reducing the use of restrictive practices are essential. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use are also required.
