Overview

Payroll Specialist - Swedish Legislation

Remote - Darlington

Circa £39 per hour

Initially 5-month contract (long-term thereafter)

37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for Swedish sites in line with statutory regulations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to SOx controls.
  • Respond to internal and external queries related to tax, social security, illness, and insurance, including support during audits.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects with internal departments to streamline payroll processes.
  • Maintain and update documentation, workflows, and procedure manuals to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Participate in virtual and on-site customer meetings across Germany to address payroll-related queries and build client confidence.
Background / Qualifications
  • Professional-level Swedish language skills (spoken and written).
  • Strong working knowledge of Swedish legislation and applicable European payroll standards.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP payroll systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage, analyse, and validate data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong customer relationships.
