We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join a public sector organisation in Newcastle. This temporary role requires expertise in payroll processing and a strong understanding of accounting and finance practices.

Description
  • Accurately process payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity.
  • Handle payroll queries and provide timely resolutions.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns, including PAYE and NI contributions.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting & Finance team to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Assist with audits and provide necessary payroll documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.
  • Support ad-hoc payroll-related tasks as required.
Profile

A successful Payroll Officer should have:

  • Experience in payroll processing within a professional environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and relevant legislation.
  • Experience with iTrent would be desirable.
  • A background in Accounting & Finance or a related field.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Job Offer
