  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.

Job Title: Payroll Clerk (Temporary)

Location: Caterham

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Contract: Temporary

Key Responsibilities
  • Process weekly and monthly payroll in line with company deadlines
  • Input and verify employee data including new starters, leavers, and pay changes
  • Calculate statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and holiday pay
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies
  • Assist with PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll accounts
  • Respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Support payroll audits and year-end processes (P45s, P60s, etc.)
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience in a payroll processing role (essential)
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)
