The Opportunity :

Kenton Black Finance are currently recruiting for a full-time and permanent Payroll Assistant on behalf of a business that is based in the Preston area. This company has a turnover of circa 15 million pounds, and has been operating for over 40 years. The Payroll Assistant will be supporting the finance team to ensure payroll is processed accurately and efficiently in line with client deadlines, preparing salaries, processing auto-enrolment, and completing stat. Please note, this job is office based.

Salary and Benefits :
  • A salary of £27,000 to £32,000
  • Annual leave - 24 days + bank holidays
  • Death in service (4 x salary)
  • Company pension of 5%
Your New Role as the Payroll Assistant :
  • Processing multiple monthly payrolls for circa 300 employees
  • Managing end-to-end payroll reconciliation and month-end reporting
  • Handling payroll queries via phone, email, or in person
  • Ensuring compliance with PAYE, NI, pensions, and HMRC requirements
  • Supporting system upgrades, acquisitions, and data integrations.
  • Maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality across all payroll and HR systems.
