Job summary

A dynamic payroll services firm in the UK seeks an experienced Payroll Assistant. In this role, you will manage end-to-end payroll processing accurately while supporting employee benefits and year-end processes. We're looking for someone with at least 2 years of payroll experience and a keen eye for detail, comfortable using Sage 50 and Excel. This position offers a salary up to £30K, generous holidays, private health benefits, and a supportive work culture that values its employees.

Opportunity

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for a dynamic and growing company to showcase your skills? We have an incredible opportunity for you! We are working exclusively with our client seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Payroll Assistant to support the Payroll Manager in processing UK and international payrolls across multiple locations and intervals.

Role
  • End-to-End Payroll Processing: Take ownership of the administration and processing of monthly payrolls, ensuring that salary payments are made accurately and punctually for all locations.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Handle the starters and leavers process, P45/P46s, SMP/SSP making sure all relevant information is captured and processed correctly.
  • Benefits and Pension Support: Assist with managing company benefits, such as healthcare and cycle-to-work schemes, and play a key role in the administration of pension plans.
  • Year-End Processes: Support international payroll year-end processes, ensuring all compliance and tax requirements are met. HMRC queries
  • Employee Record Management: Keep employee records up to date, including changes to tax details, bank information, and addresses.
  • Payroll Queries: Be the go-to point of contact for payroll-related queries, providing clear, timely, and professional support.
  • Confidentiality and Accuracy: Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure all payroll data is processed with the highest level of accuracy.
Experience Required
  • Minimum 2 years in payroll, with experience processing payroll at multiple intervals weekly/monthly and managing employee benefits.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient with Sage 50 ideally (training can be provided) and some knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: You should thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and never miss the details when it comes to accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: You should possess excellent communication skills and be able to interact confidently with colleagues at all levels, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Confidentiality & Trust: You understand the importance of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information.
  • Problem Solving: Able to quickly identify issues and find practical solutions, all while maintaining high standards of work.
