Overview

Location: Stroud, GL5

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Part Time, Monday to Friday 8:30am-1pm

Contract: Long-term

Pay: £14 per hour

The School

This is a warm, community-focused primary school set in the heart of Stroud. The school prides itself on being inclusive, nurturing and child-centred, with a strong ethos of kindness and respect. Children are encouraged to develop both academically and emotionally, and staff work closely together to create a positive, supportive environment where every pupil is valued. The school has a diverse mix of learners, including pupils with additional needs such as ADHD, Autism and speech and language delays, and the team is committed to providing the right support so that all children can thrive.

The Role

We are looking for compassionate, proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to provide targeted SEN support in Year 4. These part-time positions are ideal for individuals with experience of supporting children with ADHD, Autism or speech and language needs – but above all, a genuine passion for making a difference.

  • Strong communication, patience and empathy
  • Ability to build positive relationships and respond calmly to challenges
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
Desirable
  • Experience with ADHD, Autism or speech and language support
  • Relevant qualifications (CACHE, NVQ, degree in Childcare/Education)

Requirements and Safeguarding

All Teaching Assistants must have an enhanced DBS check on the update service (or be willing to pay £57.07 for one through Axcis) and satisfactory references. Axcis is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
