Part-Time Registered Mental Health Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and progressive Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) / Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with a passion for delivering outstanding care. The role is part-time with a total of 22 hours a week, including both day and night shifts. The working pattern is 07:30 hrs to 20:00 hrs for the day shift and 19:30 hrs to 08:00 hrs for the night shift.

Main duties of the job

Cygnet Lodge Kenton is a female high‑support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service in North‑West London. It provides a care pathway for service users preparing to step down from hospital and bridging the gap between hospital stays and community living. The service offers a high level of support and employs a recovery‑focused model.

Job responsibilities
  • Produce outstanding written reports based on nursing assessments and observations.
  • Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit, and improve quality.
  • Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge and promote nursing.
  • Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete and maintained collectively with residents, relatives, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medicines within healthcare procedure and Healthcare Commission guidelines.
Qualifications and experience
  • Current Pin Number and a minimum of one year’s experience in a mental health setting.
  • Good understanding of the latest nursing practices.
  • A commitment to patient recovery in order to effectively monitor, manage, and reduce risk.
  • Compassion, resilience, and dedication to empower and support service‑user independence.
  • Ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits and demonstrate integrity in the role.
  • Ability to deputise in a clinical lead role.
  • Interest in leadership, research, and assessment.
  • Experience working with Personality Disorder patients in a PD service.
